CZ 455

Good afternoon all,

Iown a CZ 455 in .17hmr, it has the factory fitted laminate thumbhole stock. I am not a fan of the stock, I find it awkward and uncomfortable to shoot.

I am trying to find a synthetic sporter version to fit without costing more than the price of the rifle itself!

Closest I've seen is a Boyds stock that still £250+ id potentially be happy paying that sort of money if it had adjustable comb and length of pull but not for a plain stock, the rifle just isn't worth doubling the price.

Does anyone know if you can get cheaper alternatives, or if CZ make a synth sporter stock from factory? so I can keep an eye out for second hand ones possibly.

thanks.

I’ve got the same and tried to get a plain 455 factory synthetic stock via a dealer. Waited 6months and gave up.

Was quoted £80ish I think, but it was a few years back.

Sorry not much use, but would also be interested if you find a supplier at a sensible price.

I did find one on some foreign site for 90euros ish, but didnt state .17hmr or barrel size i did message to ask but awaiting for a reply.

I have Boyds pro varmint stocks on all three of my 455s.
I got them from rimfire magic.
Excellent stocks.

I'm getting to hate laminates and especially thumbholes
CZ sells the 455 in synthetic stocks so they can probably provide one.

How about one of these, not cheap, but apparently will improve accuracy and are fully adjustable... MDT ORYX Precision Rifle Chassis CZ455 Right - ODG
I have one for my 22 and know someone who recently did a 455 17hmr and said it was great.... I think they were on offer before...

MDT oryx chassis looks the part but around £400
My shooting buddy got a 455 17HMR with the Oryx chassis. We were out a few days ago and I took my bog standard wood version also in 17HMR as a comparison. Its very nice to shoot but a bit heavy and the balance point is really far forward. Probably great for targets. With only aluminium to hold onto its not something I'd like to be carrying around on a cold winter night.
