Does anyone use a Cz 550 or a 557. Can anyone give me some info.would you buy it not, are they accurate etc

Picked up an as new .243 Cz550 from a member on here and love it,far better that the Howa that I had before.Found that it likes PPU 100g and seems to group, very well with them.Found the stock to be a little short but in the process of having it alyered. The detachable mag is easy to use, bolt is slick and safety easy to operate.
Looking for one in .308 now

I have had CZ 550 now for over 20 years. Still have them in 30-06 and 243. They are imho the best rifle in that price range. My 30-06 has taken game from Scotland to Africa and many countries inbetween out to distances of 300 yrds. In all weather and horrible dust in Namibia it has never let me down. Shoots 1 inch group's all day long @100 yards with many different bullets.
The 243 is just like a laser beam it's my fox and high seat rifle. I took a n Oryx last year at 190 metres neck shot. This rifle shoots sub 1 inch.
These rifles are uncomplicated and some would say agricultural but in sub zero to desert will never let you down the Mauser action is great.

I was curious about the new 557 and had a look at one recently. It's like a Remington 700 in the same way that the CZ 550 was like the original Mauser 98. The 557 seemed perfectly sound and workmanlike, but I handled a 550 shortly afterwards and preferred that.

They’re a little heavy compared to the alternatives but they’re solid walnut and blued steel and generally shoot very well.

Some may feel a bit rough in the first instance but with some polishing that is easily cured.

I’ve seen new 557’s in the basic beech stock for as little as £400 new.

I have one in .243 and paid £350 for it second hand, for the money its a brilliant bit of kit and now I have refinished the stock it looks the part too. Must admit i am a bit biased as have a CZ in .222 and 2 Brno 2E's too and think they are all really good and dont think by spending more I will gain anything apart from cosmetics.

I have a 550 beautiful piece of walnut on it. Shoots under half a MOA if I do my bit.
I don’t see any reason to buy anything else.
Single set trigger three position safety and a detachable mag. Everything I want or could need in a rifle.

i got a Cz 452 in .22lr and a CZ 550 in .308 with a stunning tiger striped walnut stock absolutely love the gun..im looking for the front and rear iron sights any one got them for sale ? and i dont mind swapping my hog back stock to an american style stock
