Losing the plot. Sorry, I mean the bolt...

Christ Almighty, are you lot that Shite scared?

I travel all over the country the bolt stays in my rifle, once I get to my destination I do what I have to do and come still in my rifle, no law tells me I have to remove it so I don’t!
Not scared, just prudent. Anyway, my guide likes it when I get the rifle out of the slip and I show him it’s clear and bolt out. Just me - no issues with what others do.

Un regards to one at the RFD. And Sorry I'd it's been mentioned, but isn't part of the serial number of the action engraved on the bolt. I know it is on a few if not all.of mine.

So, when the Op uncased the rifle he first placed the bolt on the RFD's counter (these can be a total mess as I'm certain you know) but then became distracted by a Gentleman purchasing a rarher fine Blaser in some new kid on the block chambering.

The rest is history.

I’m not being funny, but the OP doesn’t live in Northern Ireland, so therefore although you’re post is helpful for those who do live in Northern Ireland but in reality those in Northern Ireland should know the rules of the FAC because if they don’t, they shouldn’t have one!
You are a different constabulary to me, but I suspect on your firearms certificate it says something to the effect of requiring you to "take reasonable steps to ensure the security of your rifle". Now if you think removing the bolt from your rifle while you leave it unattended in your vehicle or home is unreasonable, good luck explaining that to the police if your vehicle gets stolen or your house gets broken into.

I'll let you know if I get it back. But I don't recall seeing one ?.

Oh how I wish this were the case. Though I was the only person in the shop at the time, and the counter was clear.
