Decided that I'll never own a CZ as their safety catch is the wrong way round.

Yes, it's important to be familiar with the rifle, always treat it as loaded and to never trust one which is 'on safe'.

But it's quirk with potentially dangerous or even fatal outcomes.

Go for the cheapest of the two, and put any savings towards really good Bino's.
They will both cull deer just fine.

Ive got a RF CZ and two T3's in CF calibers..... all are good rifles (very accurate and reliable) and I'd not change them.

In his memoirs (Squeeze the Trigger Gently) 'Skips' Riverdale remarks that his PH in Africa had a CZ with this safety arrangement.

He was thankful that the PH allowed him to have a shot or two, as he later remembered the safety was back to front in a close encounter.

The safety catch on the 550 and the 452 is the right way way round.....

Not sure if that's better or worse, what if forget to look down to check for the shiny red mark?

Not sure what you’re getting at, the 452 and 550 have a forward for fire safety, same as most other rifles so shouldn’t really be confusing
