I’m truly at a loss in understanding why so many SD members feel the need to purchase socks manufactured in the US, and with so little regard to the many U.K. alternatives.

No idea as I’ve always accepted any item of clothing has a limited lifespan when exposed to honest use.

If you know of a UK alternative to the Darn Tough socks, please share. I'd much prefer to buy British, but not unless the same level of foot health can be assured.
Well, it's a UK company looks like they have UK production! And they give a very comprehensive limited lifetime guarantee that doesn't work if your dog eats one of them...........
Personally, I wear some issued military ones for all my stalking, summer or winter, and I have no complaints at all. And I have enough pairs stashed away to see me out, I suspect.

My DT’s arrived today. Enough for a fresh pair every day of the week. I’m chuffed with them, we will see how well they last.
I don’t think there is a British alternative to be honest. I’ve had loads of sealskinz, gloves and socks and they are really nice but don’t wear well.
In general I find American made gear often strikes a balance of quality, price and design. Filson, redwing, danner.

I’d way rather slide cash the way of a company that pays people a reasonable wage so that they can live the same sort of life that I also expect. Can’t always afford to do it, but can with socks!
