DCS1 Vs PDS1

Looking to do my DSC1 in the next couple of months. I’m reading a lot about the online PDS1.
Question?
Dose the PDS1 hold the same level of qualification as the DCS1 and is recognised as the same level when applying to join a syndicate.
Thank you in advance with your responses .

Think the general consensus is the DSC1 holds more weight than the PDS1, id go down the DSC path personally, would give you more options for the future

A fair bit of reading on this forum about the very subject

Also about the club that started it all - Capreolus Club - info request

I went the DSC1 route, not in considerable part due to the £££ involved with the PDS1, and also not being as widely recognised (although it is being increasingly recognised *apparently*)

One thing I would note. PDS1 advertises that their benefit is that they are an online course (or at least the theory part).

DSC1 can also be studied for online - the course organiser should provide a detailed info book on it and there is dsctraining.org which provides an online MCQ platform that will bring you to the level of passing your DSC1. Frankly, after 1 month of intensively going through the MCQs on dsctraining.org (access was provided FOC for 1 month by my course organiser) I was perfectly fine walking into the exams, and am fairly confident I would have still scored 100% (sorry not trying to brag about it) even if I hadn't attended the F2F taught days prior to that.

There's no reason the PDS1 shouldn't be as valid as the dsc1... the ONLY reason the dsc is recognised more readily is because it's been the only deerstalking qualification out there for so long and it's been pushed hard by BASC (as the main benefactors of the course)...
The PDS is a LANTRA accredited course which should hold as much if not more "clout" in the industry.
There is a choice now within the industry as to which training you do... and its poor show if you're turned away from a syndicate or similar due to having chosen one recognised qualification over another, especially when they are both on the same subject but one is industry recognised ( pds...lantra & ofqual).

Dont over think this subject, there are no short cuts be actually being experienced enough to take deer on your own from living to larder.

In my opinion, DSC/PDS1 is like the theory test of your driving licence, you need to demonstrate the theory and practical elements faultlessly every time you go out with the rifle.

It depends on the end goal? Is the course just to get onto a syndicate, then ask some prospective syndicates their preference. I suspect their preference will be DSC2 to ensure you are fully versed in the practical as well as the theory, therefore DSC1 would be wise, as you can roll into the DSC2.

Read, read, read (not SD) and get a mentor to take you out as much as possible.
