Deer central sling squeeking

I recently bought a deer central pro leather sling and chest strap, works very well and holds rifle very securely.
However every step I take is met with a squeek, sounds like it's coming from where the chest strap meets the sling at the shoulder
Anyone else encountered this and if so anyone found a remedy?
Cheers

Ye I have the same. Think it’s the buckle the chest strap clicks into.

I've had the same issue with my Deer Central Sling - I actually asked Ben (the owner of the company) about this when I saw hin at the stalking show this year.

His response was rub in some beeswax/leather oil into the area where the leather meets the sling swivel/clip and this should ease up.

IMHO, I wasn't too impressed that this high quality sling needed some additional fettling to avoid squeaking like hell - it really annoyed me!!!

Cheers, RS

Thankyou, I agree with you tho

Hi All. I'm really pleased with the success of the sling as we have put a lot of effort into making sure it is produced in the UK to a high standard with good quality leather and materials. We have recently overcome a challenge to upscale to meet demand and keep this in the UK. The clip mentioned is a universal part and found on a few other slings of a similar concept. If you have an idea for an alternative method feel free to drop me a message here or through the Deer Central website as I'm always looking to improve our products.

To be open and honest, other alternative solutions such as clips or designs can push the cost up and we feel the price point plus post is reasonable for the quality of the product and I wouldn't want it to become unaffordable so we decided to stick with the familiar part and offer the advice to use some wax, a spot of vasline or dry silicone based lubricant if this occurs.

Thanks to all of you for your support.

Ben.

Same problem… very frustrating not buying them again.
Its a shame you didn't make contact Zanin and I would have been very happy to help. A few layers of the silicone works but I'm always working on any feedback to improve my products and I can say that with the new MkII Pro Sling it has got a different swivel buckle that we have been testing for some time and does not need any dry lubricant. We have amended the price of the MkI accordingly but the MkII is a big leap forward with new design features and different configurations to suit everyones preference that we have called the Trinity System. Our Black variant is due to arrive this week!

Hi Ben,

I have just used my pro sling mk2 for the first time and it squeaked with every step as madmaffo reported with his mk1. I will try some dry lube, but I am surprised that this is designed for stalking and is quite noisy in use.

Would someone please post a picture of the engineering detail that is responsible for this squeak. I'm sure there is a cost-effective 'fix' for this that doesn't simply rely on less than assured lubrication.

It would be such a pity for an otherwise well considered and priced peice of kit to be so maligned without being given the chance for addresing such an unforseen issue.

Here is the sling and the couplings, mine squeaks from the round coupling I have pictured
