Can someone please clarify what the deer Scotland open season now is. I was told that the proposal to have open season on males of all species of deer was quashed at the last minute.

The attempt to quash it failed. All male seasons are now done away with

Males of all deer species in Scotland are now open. Meaning you can shoot male deer all year round in Scotland.

We don't on our syndicate, sticking to the closed seasons as they were.

plenty already do under general or specific authorisations. The only thing this will do in these situations is reduce paper pushing

Nail on head, amongst other things money talks.

It’s funny how some are ostracised for saying they’ll shoot year round in their own specific circumstances, yet when certain people do it (and post a picture), you get all the “well done/good one to take” comments - the hypocrisy is laughable.

Nowt as strange as attitudes and opinions within deer stalking.
