Park Ranger – Swinton Estate
40 Hours per week, working 5 days over 7
Salary of £23,920 per annum, plus accommodation and dog allowance
The Role:
This is a rare and exciting opportunity to join the Swinton Estate as a Park Ranger. Swinton Estate’s deer herd is a wild fallow herd of approximately 120 that roams freely within the confines of the Deer Park. It is thought that the herd has been there since the late 1700s. Whilst it is a wild herd as Park Ranger your role is to be responsible for the management of the herd, supplement their feed in the winter months if required and also cull to keep numbers under control and introduce new blood lines from time to time.
As well as management of the deer herd, it will be your responsibility to manage pest and predator control across the parkland and wider Estate.
The ideal candidate must have previous experience in a similar role and be confident with speaking with guests as the Park Ranger hosts weekly ‘Deer Walks’ as well as other educational events.

The Estate comprises of 20,000 acres, of which two thirds of the land is forestry and farmland and one third open moorland.
