Yes cancer is a terrible thing and cuts so many down regardless of their age, race, creed or colour. Now a single one of us know when it might strike, and when it does it can be devastating for everyone involved. With the way that cancer has effected my family I have over the last few years realised that life is too short and I need to live every day as if it were my last for one day it will be.
Marlene and I had to play a Bowls Match last night, something I wasn't looking forward to but felt that had to play rather than let our team down. Just as we were being called on to the green marlene whispered in my ear "Let's win this one for Rene" so we did our best and won our game 21 points to 12 which keeps Marlene and the top pair in the division, I hope that Rene was looking down on us and cheering us on.
I know that I have had a few "fall outs and minor disagreements" with a few members on here and for that I am truly sorry, life is far too short to be arguing and to those who I might have upset I sincerely apologise and hope that they will accept my apology and not bare any grudges.
Now is the time to move on and live our lives in the hope that when our time comes we can hold our heads up and say that we did our best. That is what I intend to do!

Waz77, My deepest condolences on the loss of your wife I'm very sorry to read this, 38 is such a young age.

Sorry to hear more bad news for you, FrenchieBoy.

If I were cynical I’d wonder if some would prefer no cure for all cancers comes to the market.
Cancer research must be one of (If not the best) the better funded charities and I wonder why we are still in the horrible position of so many succumbing to various cancers.

25 year old family friend currently very near the end of a few horrible years of treatment, but she’s still smiling.
Few weeks ago she was given a new hip!
Last week as

In her position, I would have eaten a 308 pill long before now.

Big thanks to members here who donated to make her life more comfortable some time ago.

My thoughts are with you, I lost my wife to cancer last year she first had cancer when she was thirty she beat that and
went on to have a further 38 good years before succumbing to it last year.

After the first time she had to have scans at first every six months then every year then every five years all that time
expecting it to come back then they finally stopped the scans as there had been no reoccurance.
Only to be devastated last year .

Sorry my friend this is about you not me. I do feel your pain and you have my sincere condolences.

I lost my father and mother to cancer 11 and 10 years ago. Think about them still and always speak to my brother on their birthdays. I know it is sentimental but I still have their contacts in my phone - can't bring myself to delete them, even though the house was sold years ago.

Cancer is a major killer - this Covid thing is still a mere amateur.
