Did anybody use use different bluet weight in the same rifle. I test RWS DK 165g and RWS EVO 185g in Tikka 308win. On the target i do not notice significant difference. Zero on scope was not changed.
no it was before I started reloading
the shop had run out of 130gr Norma so I had to take 150gr
to be perfectly honest I would use 130gr .270 for everything and anything.
they are faster, flatter at distance, deliver more energy and a decent soft point will kill anything it hits from crow to a 300lb red stag
I reload 87g hornady BTHP's with varget for my .243 sako 75 and get the exact same POI with norma and federal 100g SP's from factory...sometimes it's just random pot luck and coincidence really.
My 6.5 will shoot bioth 120 grain PPU's BTHP and 140 grain Sierra GK into the same 1" circle at 100 yards but the groups are slightly separated. Down range is where you tell the difference. Much has to do with the weight of the rifle and the speed of the bullet. My Husqvarna 8x57 will show a pronounced difference in POI as you change bullet weights. Only 196 grain will shoot to the sights; 170 grain shoot low, 225 grain shoot a little high.~Muir
