Dimwits on car ferries

Why go to Calais past the Dunkirk Dover ferry then pay £180 for a one way then drive back to Dover from Folkstone to my house there?I pay the coin and take the tunnel, sod the ferry
My ferry one way costs me 45-60€ cos I know the tricks.

Not always but with 50 odd years of being around Dover Deal gives me an edge.

No because I’m not tight fisted and can be up the road a long way by the time the ferry has crossed me tunnel 35mins
I must be the other end of this scale of doom…. I’m usually like a kid on Christmas morning getting on and off a ferry! For me it means a road trip has started! Love it!,!!! Fry on the ferry even though it is extortion and new places to find when I get off…. Big kid I know…..
Smells like fun….. must remember to grow up….im over 50 now and haven’t got round to that yet!

Use to be a scooter club here .
Every one of them looked as miserable as fook. They also looked like victims of a tear gas attack and needed oxygen.
When presented with a cognitive test most of them would fail.
Don't smell, I mean see, them about anymore....thank god.

last year I got a cheaper deal on the tunnel with a bike/sidecar 2 up than I could one up on my solo bike on the ferry!!!I pay the coin and take the tunnel, sod the ferry

A similar thing annoys me, well not exactly annoys but makes me wonder, is when everybody stands up on a plane when it lands then stands around for ages until the door opens and allows exit.
I always wait until the gangway is almost clear then get up.
Sometimes people ask me if I want to get up but I always, tongue in cheek, reply no thanks I'm waiting until last then I can keep what's left behind ; -)

On a 1.5 to 2 hour ferry crossing you can stretch the legs and have a sit down meal, on the tunnel they do a sandwich trolly or did when I used it once many years ago, so as now you are in the UK on the motorway M20 the first services are at Maidstone so you still end up with a 2 hour total travel downtime.
I do not use the tunnel simply because I moved to Deal in 1979, then the tunnel build started "great" I can live in Deal and work on the project. Nope all the workers were brought in from the north where the contractors were head officed, caused a lot of local issues from drunk workers doing sexual molestation etc.
Plus being retired why should I not save money where I can?

I think Ryanair in particular uses those worn out rubber tank trackpads
