This fella has a stunning turn around postal wise.
Hi Hogey, i really never decline to reply to an email, so will not have got it. Waders can be punctured easily and sometimes the issue that caused them to need to come to me can re cause the problem after repair, just guessing, i do a lot of waders and have no idea which waders we are talking about. I would have advised on repair but more likely would have asked for them back and would have repaired them under warranty. A lot of people spell my surname wrong in emailing me, but i can be contacted on face book, email to 2 addresses and have my phone number in every email i send, so make myself as easy as possible to contact.
Unfortunately i cannot make a connection to hogey to any of my waders, but feel free to contact me again and i will sort things out for you.
So - 9 minutes to respond on a saturday morning day off - not too bad!
ok, very sorry, i must have missed it, i get a lot of waders emails every day, 24 hours a day, and do my absolute best to answer them all as quickly as is possible, whilst still running the business / having a family life / shooting. It is a pity you did not just call me to discuss this, as i honestly cannot think of any reason why i would "decline to reply" other than simply missing the email. If it fixed with aquasure i guess it was a minor pin hole leak, it cannot have been more than this. In the mean time i have searched back for any surnames that include hogey, so have checked hogan and hogey and can find no entries in the last 2 years in that name, and have also searched all my emails for similar and cannot find any reference or clue as to the waders in question. Unless you let me know your name i cannot really comment. However there is no reason for me not to answer an email about a problem wader. I do waders from all over Europe now, and some are bound to have problems, cause by me, transport or the angler, and i always just say send them back and i will look to see the cause and will fix them.
In the event of asking for advice, i would have told you how to use aquasure properly, as most people simply blob it on, and though it will work there are a number of ways to make it way stronger, i answer questions on how to repair your waders yourself every day of the week, so i would not have actively avoided responding.
However i guess the original poster was talking abut my Repel water repellent, and not my wader repairs, so Finnbear270, many thanks, we do our best, and hogey, sorry, i disappointing you by not responding, it will have been a simply mistake, whether it was you, me or the server unless i know who you are we are simply guessing.
(isnt it annoying on line when someone says something nice about you , there is always someone on quickly to say you have made a mistake, regardless of how hard you try to help!)
Thanks Simon, you may notice the latest Repel is lighter in colour. It is now slightly clearer, and so we have managed to make it more concentrated, as i did not want to make it darker initially, and could not get the concentration up without darkening the fluid, i worried in case it stained a very white garment.
Hogey, the problem is a comment like that is it does damage small businesses on open forums. I dont post about what i do on here as stalking is a hobby, and not a job, i keep both clear and separate, but am obviously thankful when a fellow stalker recognises what we do and leaves positive comment. I dont know who you are so cannot defend myself, i cannot check the email. You say you still have it, i have no idea if i simply missed it, or if it did not arrive. i cannot check if there is a problem with the server i use, and therefore did i miss other emails? This is why i put my phone number on the bottom of every email i send, to help stop this kind of problem, you could easily have called if there was a problem. Your open post basically intimates i made a mistake with a wader and "could not reply" to the email and this would give bad press, what else could it do? As you still have the email please send it to me so i can at least check that there is not a problem at this end. It is the work of seconds for you, and as you have not made a mistake, and it is clearly a mistake at my end at least i am able to look to resolve it as i know what it is we are talking about.
Many thanks, email responded to, never received first one and forwarded onto my email chap (dave) to respond to me. To be fair, the waders were repaired in December, and in June started leaking from the same place again, so i would have asked for them back to find out why they leaked. Anything that can puncture a balloon can puncture some makes of waders. Whether it was something the angler was doing that caused them to leak initially, and then punctured in the same place again, a stress point or a repair that failed in time, we will now never now. I like to advise anglers on how to reduce problems with waders, and when we see them come back under warranty or for future services can advise on the causes of leaks. When a wader is watertight, and then starts leaking again in the same place it is generally a simple re puncture, and i just fix them and send them back, we like to be fair and find anglers respond by being fair with us.i have sent the mail to the address i previously sent it to along with the previous mails sent concerning the original repairs .
Thank you
Hi Richard
Seal it first, Repel is good but wont fix holes. Heat aquasure or stormsure in a cup of hot / not boiling water and ideally mix in some stormcure or cotal 240, and a micro dot of water and mix very well. They are water curing sealants, and need a little moisture to make them work properly. spread or paint it very thinly onto the suspect seam area, extending a good 3-5 inches beyond the leak. Do it very thinly and repeat the following day.
Repel wont fix the leak, but the water will run over it more quickly so can help, and will probably be needed after the hot aquasure has been applied, as it will reduce the water repellancy. If you were to give it a repel soaking it may work, but is not a real fix you really need to do both.
