Hi everyone

Booked my DSC1 with BASC at west London shooting school, I will be purchasing the book as I find it will be easier to read on my train commute to work instead of reading off my iPhone

I noticed the end of the manual has a bank of questions but doesn’t show you the correct answer anywhere else apart from reading the manual itself (which I know is the correct thing to do but I would also like to check im correct with my answers so I can be ready come August time)

Am I the only one that thinks it’s a bit weird that the answers aren’t there to check your work ?

Subscribe to the BDS' Ultimate Deer Guide via their website - its £20/month. It presents all of the questions in random order by Section and, if you get it wrong, it gives you the right answer. I doubt you'll need more than a month's subscription before you are comfortably better than the required pass mark! Worked for me and my youngest and when he was learning, it was a good refresher quiz for me too!"

No, it's not weird at all.
What would be the point of giving you all the answers at the end of the manual? You'd learn nothing!
It is up to you to find the correct answers by reading the manual. They're all in there.

My tip is that once you've identified the correct answer to a specific question, a, b, c or d, don't mark it with a highlighter pen or anything like that. Instead, completely black out all the incorrect answers, leaving only the correct one visible. Once you've done that you'll find that revising and learning the whole thing is an absolute doddle.

Suggest you read the manual first maybe a couple of times. Then work through the questions, most answers will be obvious from what you have read in the manual, after all they are multiple choice. If you are unsure about any specific answer then go back to the relevant section of the manual and read through again until you find the correct answer. There are no shortcuts unfortunately.

That’s a good idea, bit early for it now as my course is at the start of August so will look to do this June/July time

Thanks not looking for shortcuts but having the correct answers atleast allows you to check your own work.

Good tip, I usually just highlight the correct answers but I’ll give this a go, Monday I’ll order the paper version as reading on a iPhone on the train ain’t for me (lots of right to left swiping, zooming in and out), rather read from the paper version

Any that you are unsure of you'll be able to check with the tutor during the course itself. There won't be many, if you read the manual properly.

Photocopy the question bank, and work on that. Keep the one in the book clean.

I was in a similar position but I did as I advised and it was easy to pick out the correct answers. If you really get stuck on any questions just PM me.

Do they have the multiple choice questions online with the answers like BDS ?
Yes they do but I admit I've not looked at the BDS option. Myself and several friends have used DSC Training and it helped greatly. I have no association with DSC Training other than being a past customer.
