Drying off now! and probably peroxide tomorrow unfortuanaly I discovered the antler isn't as perfect fitting as I thought it would be so I suspect I'll sand the pedicle flat and probably the antler and glue it on.
I keep a few as when people call in who have not shot anything lumpy or never seen a deer head up close then it gives a sense of scale when you they/I hold it up around the height it was standing.
One farmers son has shown a great interest in this and on the next school break is coming with me, also seen the pictures and eaten fallow and muntjac.
I don’t bother keeping them, I have too many hobbies and my walls would soon be filled with Bass Heads/Cod Heads/Halibut Heads/Fox Heads/Deer Heads and the list goes on so just don’t bother
I've kept the good ones more or less and ones that were meaningful like the most sad sorry red spiker head ever imaginable, but it was the first thing shot after a hiatus in shooting caused by a very acrimonious divorce.
