I am on the hunt for a drag rope / harness for deer extraction

I recently used my mates Seeland Drag rope but being 5ft 5 I dint like the design and would like a more even distribution of pull - which is why a harness might work better.

Any recomendations?

anyone used this or simular?

thanks in advance

Best one ive got is a single point leather with chest and gut belts holds tight and it gives the pull direct

A cheap mares tail and harness from his are good, cheaper and change the hook for a loop good to go

If it’s this Seeland drag harness - I would suggest using two cross chest - makes hell of a difference.

Otherwise, simple light homemade hand drag will get things moved.

Can’t recommend this product enough lads, horrible weather last year and couldn’t get vehicles in so had some very long drags on fallow. Harness system with a drag rope, pull the animal out with your big muscle's and keeps arms free to for rifle, sticks etc.

seen this advertised on Facebook with positive reviews

is it a harness and 3 straps coming off the harness, which is then attached to the deer?

I don’t really get these strap yourself in harnesses. If you’ve got my ground your forever getting into ditches climbing walls going through gates and need to un harness and harness all the time? I have a simple rope with a padded wider strap that goes over your chest. Works absolutely fine and fits in a pocket. Big reds go on a sledge anyway with a wide strap.

Actually have details of where you can buy at source for £25 + P&P. Message direct if needed

I have this one from B/W - works well but a fag to lug about while stalking, so I tend to find I get it from the car after walking back for it. Gives me a chance to plan a route out.
There is a negative review for it from someone on the website who clearly didn't read the instructions and it sounds like he got himself wrapped up in it and took a trip to the bottom of a hill in it! I found it fine.

thanks very much - I am enjoying the reviews on a very mundane Tuesday afternoon!!

Back packing is fun unless it is a big fallow buck...had a real wheeze trying it on with a buck I thought I could carry...but just lucky no-one saw or filmed me while working out he was too heavy. I could have looked like I was trying something only Mr Packham would consider!
