Drinks chiller modification

Hi all,
I currently have a double door drinks chiller with the motor unit mounted below the storage area( if that makes sense?)
Now the problem I'm moving house to a property with a cellar which is ranked and dry I want to store the chiller there but there is insufficient head room.
Looking above the doors there seems to be a lot of wasted head space simply a surface for a display and strip light which is unnecessary
So a question for some of you with more knowledge about these things ... Can I angle grinder the spare top off and re edge it in order that it will fit my cellar?
Obviously the integrity of the insulated compartment should not be compromised
Many thanks in advance and straight shooting to all.
Simon

Thanks Tim yes there seems to be a metal shroud folded over some wiring
Can't tamper at the mo as it's on with 2 for in it
Would have to lose about 6" in height I hope it works as it's been a godsend

My mate got a similar fridge in that it had a hood with Coke or whatever on it.
It was riveted on we simply drilled out the rivets. The only thing was the wiring for the light and fan was behind it.
Can’t remember exactly how it was wired but a terminal block sorted it out after the strip light was removed.

Thanks mate that's encouraging
Many thanks to those who have taken the time to view and reply
It appears that the upright side sections are still insulated even though it seems to serve no purpose and the front facade is simply a thin metal sheet housing a simple controller and the strip light

In that case I cannot see why you can’t cut them down. You can get various aluminium angle sizes or something similar to trim the top to tidy it up.
