Driven hunt for boar

Ammon Ammon is a very wealthy chap. It’s certainly allowed him to experience some magnificent locations. It would be interesting to know who he is.

I noticed the use of a normal scope in most cases.

I have both Aimpoint Micro H1 and Swarovski z8i 2-16×50. I much prefer the scope as here it is very important to be able to pick the right animal to harvest out of a sounder. So we need to see what we are hunting first, then decide what to shoot and only then take the shot. Also the shooting distances can sometimes be quite long and some magnification if very helpful.
The Aimpoint is very popular, most likely due to Wild boar fever series and very strong commercial campaign on the side of Aimpoint among other things. But is it really as useful as it is beeing suggested, this could be debatable.

Individual conditions (shooter, role, environment, species...) affect so much on the choice of best sight. In some cases Aimpoint or true 1x LPVO is at it's best on shots that most people would/could/should not take.

I don't find Aimpoint (or any red dot) the perfect sight, like you I want the ability to recognize animals at longer distance etc. But I do want the 1x option for closer shots, so current driven game sight is 1-6x Leica LPVO. I really cannot take quick shots with magnification in 1.1 - 2.5/3.0 range. Eye dominance keeps changing and it slows me down. Also you really need throw lever to get most out of a LPVO.
