Hi all
Im just wondering because Ive never looked through a drone. For the last however long the Drone pro seemed to be regarded as having the best quality night time image around. That's certainly the impression I got from what I read about them on here, and that was certainly the opinion of all the owners anyway!
Given the recent advances in technology and the new wave of HD and 4k scopes now available I just wondered how they compared these days.
Im not trying to reignite any old arguments, im just genuinely curious to hear from people with experience of both. As like I said, I've never had the opportunity to look through a Drone.

Had a drone 10 for a long time, top image, have a hik alpex and the zoom to pick out past the shot is very handy also the battery life.
At night the Drone has a better image with a IR the hik better battery mag and record.
The weak point of the drone is small battery's and the rail set up.

Had all the new stuff that's been out to date.. still Got 2 drone 10x's and a 15x. As above.. only weak point is battery life and mounting configuration but there are plenty of ways around it. No bells and whistles a simple cross hair and battery level indicator on screen. Turn on - shoot- turn off. 👍🏻

I’ve had them all too - still have an Alpex, TD70 and a Pard and of course my 10x Drone.
The Drone is way the best scope for image, simplicity and how quickly it turns on from scratch (so battery life isn’t really and issue for me).
I can id a fox at 800m with the Drone and Solaris IR and shoot fingernail sized groups at 100m day or night - it’s a class act.
There’s much made of sensor / display pixel counts and complex firmware with the new tech but, unlike conventional optics, there’s very little talk about the quality of glass built into digital scopes. It’s all fine at shorter ranges but, just like conventional scopes, when you want sharp detail at range you need good glass and that’s expensive.

Very interesting 🤔.
Thanks for the informative feedback. Must admit im quite suprised they're still rated so highly, but only because they've been around so long. Plus like I said I've never looked through one.
Fair play though, they must have been some game changer when they arrived on the scene👍.
Curiosity satisfied! Thankyou to all who replied.

I have 2 drones and the new drone-wolf10 and a Alpex 4k .
Drone battery’s are cheap as chips if bought in bulk online and seem to last ages-weeks even during the busier harvest time, alpex needs a day on the charger if you’ve been out all night.
Alpex is a great all round d/n scope but the drone or wolf are still the best n/v

How does the drone wolf10 compare?
