Drug Smugglers executed in Indonesia

Very interesting views... I do agree with capital punishment for drug dealers, phedophiles and murderers but i don't trust the police either...

I watched a few documentrys on death row in usa to get some insight and believe it or not two thirds if not more innocent or not in their own minds of any crimes would rather face death by lethal injection than like the most of them be sitting behind bars sometimes years and not knowing from one day to the next if they are going to die or be left to die in prison, and im not going to say whether its right or wrong but anything to do with human behaviour is fundamentally flawed from the get go,

Well 1700 people turned up to a convicted executed drug dealer's funeral. That's better than a state funeral for Christ sakes.

Don't believe in the death penalty, but do believe it should be life (meaning full life no parole, or early release) in prison, (porridge style) and no Gameboys, TVs, etc, no fancy food, and working inside the prison, (on or for anything that benefits society/charities/elderly)
IF there was a miscarriage of justice, they could be compensated and freed

How big are the big are the jails going to be house all the Isis fighters?

There may be all sorts of reservations about legalised killing, like motive (revenge), morality (would they kill you), honesty (did they actually kill someone) and so forth. If guilt is established beyond a reasonable doubt and the sentence will exceed 10 years then I would kill (institutionally) the worst criminals.

I agree with you Kes, the problem is though that 'beyond reasonable doubt' is not the same as 'absolute certainty.'

Yes you are right but in such cases, a process to ensure 'absolute certainty' will always leave a doubt, however small, therefore 'beyond reasonable doubt' would do me.
The key is what crimes attract the penalty and drug running, for whatever reason or excuse, is one of them.
