Glastonbury 25

Love Ozzy he was my idol in the 80s as a teenager , loved Black Sabbath but thought he was much better with Blizzard of Ozz with Randy Rhoades.
Saw him at Newcastle City Hall on the Diary of a Madman tour ...brilliant.
Don't think I would enjoy seeing him now though as he's knackered but hope you have a great gig , suppose the nostalgia will kick in.
I’m “ working” (ahem) at the gig lol

The line up is amazing , Metallica , Slayer etc etc etc. Going to be some day that’s for sure .

Absolutely hate Status Quo ...
I wasn't a great fan, but they were the headline band at the HAMC's Bulldog Bash one weekend a few years ago. They stayed on stage playing long after they could have packed up and gone home, I think they played for nearly three hours...
A few weeks later, I was talking about it with a couple of pals, Simon, who thinks he knows all there is to know about music and Hi-Fi, was slagging them... Flynn, who plays guitar in various metal bands and teaches, told him he hasn't got a clue... if fame, money and a legacy are what you gauge a band's success on, Status Quo have done it... I can think of plenty of music I like less than Quo, any "Drill" for starters and pretty much all "Rap".. in fact the only rap song I ever listen to is Blondie's "Rapture"

Hope you're shooting plenty :fox::hind::stag::tiphat:

nothing wrong with a bit of quo !

i have very eclectic music tastes but drill and rap are just not for me , fine if you like it knock yourself out

i see the prodigy getting some praise earlier , it's ok but nothing special

in my opinion obviously and thats the beauty of music - the variety

Really, talentless noise fest. Pathetic. You could have just kept your negative comments to yourself.
Not everyone enjoys that sort of thing.
Personally I can't think of anything I'd less like to do than attend a festival like Glastonbury.
Too many people and too much noise.
Each to their own though.
I hope everyone's having fun.

(I've never even heard of any of the performers so far mentioned in this thread, so I've got no idea whether they're talented or not. But I suspect they're more noisy than talented).

I was there...and it was excellent. Some great memories from the Bulldog. BRMC, Christie hind, Fun loving criminals among a few. Oh, and The Impotent Seasnakes.....now that I will never forget

I'm of the view the finest Glastonbury 'experience' is to be had by surrendering one's self to the 4 days in a field with no fixed itinerary or expectation.

Some will of course go to see their favourite artist or an octogenarian "Legend" but for me it's stumbling across hitherto unheard of artists that either deliver something unique or simply pull off a defining performance that happily aligners with a certain mood & moment in time.

For what its worth I thought rod smashed it, I know his voice isnt were it was but sure knows how to entertain.

Yeah, I went a few times, not been for a while. Last time I went, Jerry Tobin got shot on the way home.. I always had a good time, even the missus enjoyed it.

Alabama 3 played there one time, I never had a Scooby Do about them, but they rocked my boat, Exile on Coldharbour Lane is the album I enjoy the most.

I remember just before this so called festival kicked off, way back. There was an infestation of Hippies to Glastonbury and local worthies threatened to set fire to their tents to get them moved on. I was too busy to go and watch but that would probably have been more entertaining.

I think you'd have fitted in well around here in 1979.
The first burning of a holiday home by Meibion Glyndwr.
The first cottage that was burnt is on the boundary of a bit of hill land that I now own, and all the locals climbed up on the piece land that is now mine to watch it go up.
I'm sure they found it very entertaining!

(Just for the record, I was 7 in 1979 and didn't live in Wales then, so it was nothing to do with me!)
