Eire firearms restrictions and posting to the uk

Looking for advise from those in Eire if anyone can help.
I may be looking for a rifle magazine that only appears to be available in Ireland.
Suppliers say they can't post to England. I am flying over in a month, but don't want to risk bringing it back on a plane as even an empty mag is prohibited!
Are magazines licensed parts in Eire?
Is it possible to post it to myself from Eire or is it likely to get confiscated or Subject to import duty?
Cheers, TD66.

"An Post"/Customs are a nightmare getting stuff from the UK to here with declarations, scans and searches, imagine it may be the same in reverse, and yes you will possibly but not always get hit for VAT and "charges" on import. Not a licensed part though, so I'd be happy with a mag in vehicle luggage, find someone who is driving over?

Cheers.. not desperate for it, so might try to tie it in with a driving holiday.
