Guests of Gardners Guns are invited again to join them on the Eskdalemuir Range Day on Saturday 6th September, 2025.

This gives stalkers the opportunity to practice over longer distances than our local ranges are cleared for. This is obviously of particular use for those heading to the hill where knowing how range and wind affect your point of impact (especially if an animal is wounded) is particularly important. If you are new to this type of shooting there will be lots of very experienced guys on hand to help.

Guests need to be BDS or BASC members. Cost is as per previous years: £60.

To book or for more information please email: northwestengland@bds.org.uk with 'Eskdalemuir' as the subject of the email.

In case anyone has not received the meeting instructions for tomorrow:

Good evening everybody,

The long range shoot at Eskdalemuir is this coming Saturday so I am contacting you with the meeting instructions.

We will meet at the Kiln Green Car Park at Langholm at 0800.

What 3 words for the meeting point is ///rolled.fluid.frightens

From there we will drive in convoy to the range which will take approximately 60 minutes.
Please do not be late as we may need to set off without you.
The range is remote and difficult to find and the access road crosses the target area. Due to this we all need to enter and leave the range area together. If you are going to be late please ring 07485 611896 as soon as you can so we can try to minimise the effect on everybody
.

Things to bring with you:
FAC
Rifles - as many as you like
Ammo - as much as you can bring
Ear protection
Clothing for all weathers- it is Scotland after all
Midge repellent
Lunch
Drinks
Spotting scope
Bipod/ sandbag supports/shooting sticks
Rangefinder

If you know anyone else who may like to shoot please bring them along. They can pay the fee on the day, or before by BACS which is preferred. The shoot is currently undersubscribed so is essentially being subsidised by the BDS branch.
The weather seems likely to be quite good so hopefully we will all be ringing the 1000 yard gong by the end of the day.
Any problems ring me on the above number

See you on Saturday morning

Simon
