Hi Dave

After a badge change from the 13/18 Royal Hussars, I was Royal Scots Dragoon Guards not artillery " Sorry" just seem to remember doing a few site guards there,

bob.

Everyone and his dog did site guard (even the queers(I mean Queens) regt). Good excuse for doing nowt and getting paid. Worse still was doing train escort for the damned things. 4 rocket motors and concrete warheads moved by train from site to Hohne ranges. Now that was an utterly mind numbing 4 day trip on compo rations, stopping every few minutes for a civvy train to pass, and which ironically finished at the Bergen/Belsen end of line stop.

Product of CTC here.

Tent sheets, pulks & puttees, rat-pack can openers, running the rock at Gib,the street in Guz, the shackle at the top of the ropes on the bottom field.

Lots of memories there - mostly good! :)

Rgds

Ian
