Crossbow is a different beast, it takes away the "non-optimal features" of bow shooting and resembles more a rifle.
Compound bow is a game of counter-acting the flaws in the bow with the flaws in shooter. You're e.g. twisting the bow while shooting, by design. Even the seemingly symmetrical compounds where the arrow is located in a hole in the middle of riser, won't get away with this.
Of course rifle style shooting has the flaws also, since you're shooting it from (either) shoulder etc. But those are maybe magnitude or two smaller than in compound (depending on rifle's weight and recoil).
