Expert Telecom Ltd and BT

Does anyone know anything about Expert Telecom Ltd - they called stating that the BT lines were owned by Open Reach and Open Reach would provide them with my details resulting in a substantial reduction in my bills (broadband, landline and mobile) which would come from Expert Telecom Ltd. I would not give any details but said I would do some research before ringing them back.
For what it is worth they gave name (Harry Hayes - customer relations) and telephone number (03300432372)
I queried the cost of early termination for my contract with BT and they quoted Offcom Regulation 9.6 which apparently stops such costs.
Is this a scam or is it genuine (anyone have a contract already with Expert Telecom Ltd and if so, does it do "what it says on the tin"?

This company is owned by a Bangladeshi, and has been struck off Companies House twice and the company was dissolved in 2014.
So I would be very careful, especially giving them credit/bank details.

It is possible another firm has been started with the same name, as the above has been dissolved the name would probably be available

Thanks Fadcode - very helpful and has made up my mind - no financial details given although my suggestion to pay by cheque was apparently unacceptable - they would accept Paypal direct debits however! - Too much of a hard sell (40 minutes on the phone) for my old suspicious mind.

Just to clarify, my previous post relates to a company called Expert Telecom(UK) ltd, which may not have anything to do with the one you are talking about.
I have looked at their reviews on Trustpilot and there are a few there which are very worrying, they have only been trading a year, and have moved their registered office 5-6 times, I don't personally trust reviews but, if you look at the really bad reviews, they are probably true, Hard selling is their game.
Another good way to check on firms who ring out of the blue is to google their phone number, this will give you a good idea about them.

You were on the phone to them for 40 minutes!!!
I'd have told them to f**k off within the first 10 seconds

Cheers

Never buy anything from anyone approaching you. Doorstep and cold callers are not entertained in the slightest.
First rule of not getting ripped off.

Yes but it was at their expense - I will always listen to what people say and now I am retired it helps to engage what's left of my brain - I believe that I learn more by listening than by just discarding something on impulse. Solicitors (even retired ones) try not to react without first considering the opportunities/implications involved and at the end of the day I can always put the phone down - it is just a little too tempting sometimes (as in this case) to string them along and get a rise out of them if you doubt their honesty.

Thanks again Fadcode - in conversation I asked them why I had never heard of them and they told me that they had been trading for over 10 years but did not go in for advertising !!
