FAC - Action not cited

So I got my renewal through, unusually though there is no definition on the action against each slot.

Anyone consider this unusual?

The .22 is stipulated separately from the air rifle

That FAC should allow you to choose between bolt action or semi auto for the rimfire.

It’s irrelevant for the centre fires as semi auto .223 wouldn’t be on a section 1 .

Already owned. As I take it is the case with the OP's FAC, as he mentions renewal rather than grant.
I think he's referring to the vacant slots, as on the photo.
Perfectly usual IMO not to mention an action type on an authority to acquire - the 'good reason' based on which the slot has been granted usually relates solely to the calibre/chambering, rather than the action you intend to, or eventually do, buy.

Not normal up here now .
Police Scotland are now stating what action you can buy for vacant slots. Even for .22rf

You have to make your mind up and hope that the dealer has what you want and not an absolute bargain in the wrong action
Stupid , but then stupidity is the norm now as well.

The action type is descriptive so applies when you own a rifle.

Does anyone think a *** bolt action is safer/more dangerous than a straight pull/ falling block etc etc

Ah yes, I see that now.

as you can only buy "legal" actions then I don't see any need to designate action before you buy, its not as if you can cross a category line and buy something that requires extra certification

Thankyou all for your responses. to be clear my OP relates to the vacant slots on my FAC. My FEO was specifically interested in the justification for my request for a semi auto 22rf, explaining that i can submit my justification but it may not be approved as apparently semi autos are beginning to be hard to justify for vermin control. hence why i was surprised to receive a certificate that didn't even specify the action against the 22rf.

Since when? Nothing in the Firearms Act prohibiting S/A .22 rimfires for vermin control is there?

Just had mine come through, asked for a 22lr b/a and a 22lr semi, and FAC just states .22 rifle x2. No action stated and not even 22lr or 22rf.

Worth checking with the fld though. Somebody at my club recently had similar happen, applied for 22lr, FAC (from neighboring force) said .22rf. He thought happy days, went out and bought a WMR and a few days later armed response turned up at his house to confiscate everything as they deemed it was an unauthorised purchase.
