Legal cover/insurance.

Just coming up for my insurance renewal, the SGA annual fee is £55 - any other offerings I should consider? I really only buy it for the renewal and also get for my son and wife so any suggestions welcomed.

SGA have been ok, although I find I don’t see them represented on here which for being the biggest stalking forum in the U.K. I find disappointing.

I would sell my guns before going with BASC due to previous issues with them and them selling us down the river for lead, sorry, but that’s the way it is in my eyes.

So who else is there to consider?

Regards,

Not CPSA! I had a meeting with my MP in March about lead shot and telephone CPSA and asked of there were any points I could make at this late stage. They took my membership number and contact details. I never ever heard back so the chance was lost. My membership there expired on March 31. I have not renewed. I now use Ripe Insurance.

I use Ripe Insurance for my Public liabilty etc. I was also using sidebyside for my legal cover to £250K but it looks like that has fallen by the wayside. However Ripe do now offer what looks like a good legal cover add-on.

SACS been with them years now. I turned 60 last year and was chuffed to bits, my membership came down to £44
well worth the money and covers me for all my country sports

I’m with BDS now. They have a fair few range days planned for Cawdor this year, as well as other visits and training they put on. They have a day up in Forres in a couple of weeks for 1/2 day shot sight analysis with UKDTR and 1/2 day on carcass preparation best practice and habitat impact assessment. There membership with the insurance is more expensive than SGA, but they seem more active than the SGA were when I was a member.

What are you paying fire Ripe ? I had Ripe and it was £31 last year and went up to near £85 so cancelled and with BASC but set it to monthly till I find the right insurance, the no legal cover gives me the fear

Similar to my experience of informing BASC and CA about the way the national trust were allowing anti trail hunting stands on there properties to influence members on voting to ban trail hunting on NT grounds. They had the opportunity to put up their own stands to counter the argument but chose not to
