Still will have to wait 1-2 months after visit for the ticket if he gives you the nod on the day. (In my experience)After 12 weeks waiting, I finally got a call last week. FEO is coming round this Thursday.
Your FEO does not have the authority to say yes or no, that is the job of the licensing mangers their decision based on the FEOs enquiriesStill will have to wait 1-2 months after visit for the ticket if he gives you the nod on the day. (In my experience)
Came across that way with mine.Your FEO does not have the authority to say yes or no, that is the job of the licensing mangers their decision based on the FEOs enquiries
No.Have held my SGC for 40 years - does this count for anything in the FAC application process?
3 weeks since submitting my application in Cambridgeshire, I guess I better cross my fingers and hope for a miracle too. From submitting application to receiving grants took me 4 weeks total!!! New grant as well and applied for .308 and shotgun. Ian from Kent was brilliant in support and dealing with everything! Expected to wait months.
I have my visit this week, about four weeks after application for first grant. Also in cambs.3 weeks since submitting my application in Cambridgeshire, I guess I better cross my fingers and hope for a miracle too.
The FEO makes a report and can make a recommendation, he / she will have a fairly good idea on the day if you are going to be successful as the manager will only be making the decision on what the FEO tells themCame across that way with mine.
Well, it kind of does, it means you have some experience with firearms even though it’s not rifles.
Hi T.eddie, that's good to know. What was your SGC term when applying for the FAC? Mine is coming up to two years now.My SGC term was mentioned and that I hadn't had any complaints so assume they do take it into some sort of considerations to the extent of you being trusted to have some form restricted item
3 years or there aboutsHi T.eddie, that's good to know. What was your SGC term when applying for the FAC? Mine is coming up to two years now.
That sound exsessive. In London, whilst it took almost a year to get the interivew (COVID played its part with a massive backlog), I have the Cert within 2 weeks of the interview. As other have suggested, a polite email and phone call may be in order in case its have fallen through the administrative cracks.good evening all i have applied for my fac for a 22 and 17-hmr i have had the cabinet checks and interviews and already hold a shotgun certificate and so far i am on day 125 i am in Somerset... has anyone else had it quicker and is anyone else having the same problem
thanks
Nope. They will re-do the enquiries that you had to do to get your shotgun cert and the extra ones for the firearms cert. The only time they will combine those enquiries is when you are getting/renewing a coterminous certificate. Hence the saving price-wise.I believe it does help to have the sgc as you've jumped through the larger majority of checks they have to do.
I have just got my fac and it's taken it's time. Phoned them up and asked how things are going and said I have my sgc and it sped up alot.
That's fair enoughNope. They will re-do the enquiries that you had to do to get your shotgun cert and the extra ones for the firearms cert. The only time they will combine those enquiries is when you are getting/renewing a coterminous certificate. Hence the saving price-wise.
They won't issue your firearms certificate on enquiries they did anything up to 5 years ago. If your circumstances have changed and something terrible happens and they had the chance to check but didn't before giving you firearms, you could imagine the amount of poo hitting the fan!
