FAC/SGC Security

I carry a colour copy of my FAC in my Rifle slip in a ziplock bag The original I keep in the gun cabinet not for security just so I know where both FAC/SC are if I need them

If you get stopped by the police, as soon as they run your name they will know you are an FAC holder anyway because of the firearms marker.

Mine are just held by a magnet inside the cabinet, whigh one, I’ll know the next time I need it 🫣

Thanks for the useful responses and clarifying where there was doubt. Obviously there are a few in this thread who think asking a question is paranoia and over thinking it however I've always believed that the stupid question is the one you don't ask.

The reason I ask is that it can be used to purchase ammunition ect. Not pressure bearing but I wouldn't like it to fall into the wrong hands.

And I know that there is a photo on it, but passports are stolen and used often enough.
No more requirement than locking up a passport.

This was a common scam in the olden days, when you could buy firearms by post (especially with regard to pistols who were much coveted by criminals).

You'd see an RFD's ad in the paper, you'd send a cheque in the post with your firearms certificate, and the RFD would send you the firearm by return mail.

Criminals exploited this by advertising handguns on the cheap so that innocent FAC holders would send them their FACs by post, which they then used to purchase pistols from an RFD.
