Factory 6.5x55 swede

I’m looking at factory loads only for a 6.5x55
Blaser R8 23” Barrel.
Anyone use something they would recommend please?
max range of 300mtrs.
thanks in advance

I have a 6.5x55 R93 and like above it shoots anything spot on. At the moment I’m using 140gr Hornady SST’s bit pricey though (roughly £35 a box) but I don’t shoot hundreds of rounds

what are you shooting?
fox, boar, roe, sika?
PPU grouping is shocking in my 6.5x55 blaser but expands without causing too mush meat damage so is only good for close woodland stalking in my rifle

Hornady super-performance SST's group well and fly faster than most other factory ammo but do allot of meat damage if you are chest shooting but that can be a bonus if neck shooting / not worrying about meat damage etc

Norma 140 pt group well and less meat damage but a tad pricey.

Is reloading using some elses' equipment not an option? if you want to group well at 300m you'd get a more accurate round than factory ammo but at the price of PPU (ish) where abouts in Dorset are you? perhaps someone on here could help?

I chronographed factory SSTs Superperformance through my 26” barrel and they were 2650fps, a solid 100fps less than advertised, which doesn’t bode well for regular sporting barrels. I got a few long runners with this round, fairly dissatisfied generally. The sako 120TTSX factory loads were on the money for velocity and killed well. I’m now on handloads.

What rifle out of interest?
Every barrel is different i suppose, there's certainly no substitute for hand-loads although some get lucky with a combination. My friend's mauser .243 puts norma 58gr through one ragged hole at 100m time after time and it's only a sporter weight barrel
one of the previous posts said ppu btsp grouped well in their blaser, but it's shocking through mine.

Thank you Loler.
I don’t have the time or inclination to home load.

It’s a custom based off a sako 75 action with a 26 inch sassen barrel, heavy profile. It shot them well but disappointingly they were quite slow, they are advertised as being fairly pokey. Had a lot of runners on reds, not so much roe. I’m on 100gn TTSX pushed fast now, everything dropped to shot. I won’t be going back!

My Blaser R8 in 6.5 gobbles up anything factory except, unfortunately, PPU.
I've used Federal, Norma and Hornady SST in 140Gr with same point of aim.
I don't like the Norma 120 BTs. They are deadly accurate, but the meat damage can be catastrophic.
