Ferrets, don't often have to go near them but I've a big rabbit problem along the edge of a restock and I'm trying every trick in the book.
I got the locator and collar out ( havent been used in a year ) put new batteries in and nothing, wondering if its repairable?
Advice muchly appreciated.
I think deban have stopped making them so is there an alternative?

make sure the threads on the collar are clean as that's the contact for the battery power.check battery terminals in the box as well.it goes without saying new batteries!

Elaborate on that please, I've seen what looks like a button on the collar that matches the locator.
if your talking about the orange locator box, it has two types of collars a grey one with batteries side by side, no marking but batteries are different way up to each other but only work one way round, does that make sense? second type is a black rounded one that batteries stack, this one has a magnet in it i think, if you wave the loacator over the collar it should turn on. i hope i make sense

What a man! Thanks for that, the collar was switched off. I'd no idea there was such a feature.
