TQ50 Thunder & Hikmicro Sight app

I noticed today hik released a firmware update. The unit I have is running version V5.5.21 out of the box, latest version is V5.5.36.!

I down loaded the Hikmicro sight app, link the unit and tried to update, no new version available according to the app.! Also I've changed the time on the unit three times, each time I switch it off the time changes lol

What exactly am I doing wrong..??

It's not the simplest process, but here goes.
First you need to download the update to your computer (the app is not used during the upgrade process)
The download is a zip file and when you unzip it you'll see a pdf document with instructions on how to perform the upgrade and 2 folders marked FPGA firmware and Main firmware
Read the document!!!
Use the USB cable supplied with the HIK to connect it to your computer, then switch on the HIK
The HIK should appear as a memory device on your computer (drive J: or some other letter:)
When that happens, open FPGA firmware folder and copy the digicap.dav file to the HIK drive
Switch off the HIK and then switch it on again
After it switches on, a message saying Upgrade in Progress should appear on the HIK display.
Upgrading may take a while, so be patient!!!
After the upgrade is complete the HIK will switch off
Switch it on again and when it appears as a memory device on your computer, open the Main Firmware folder and copy the digicap.dav file to the HIK.
Switch off the HIK and switch it on again
Again, the Upgrade in Progress message should appear and again be patient!
When the upgrade is complete the HIK will switch itself off.
Switch it on again and check that the new firmware has actually been installed
I've done the upgrade and the version should now be
V5.5.36 build 211110
V1.0.7 build 211019

My understanding is that this update makes it possible for any future updates to be downloaded and installed directly from the HIK MicroSight app

Cheers

Thanks Bruce, I'll return shortly either smiling, or crying lol

Put it in its bag and send it to me - I'll do the upgrade for you
BTW, the upgrade gets you only 2 things that might be of value to you
1. An automatic switch off timer in case you forget to switch the scope off.
2, Freezing the image when zeroing meaning that the rifle does not have to be kept on target when the reticle position is being adjusted

Cheers

What a top man, thanks for the kind offer. Just to confirm, if I don't bother with the upgrades nothing will be effected.?

If that's the case I'll happily leave it as it is.?

I'm just on with trying to do the update now. I've downloaded the folder, but there is no pdf to read. Does anyone have a copy of it please?

I'm glad am not the only one struggling with this.

love the unit but the firmware upgrades on Pulsar are far much easier to use than this lol

going to have to find somebody more technically minded than me to do it.

The latest version of the firmware (V5.5.38) adds the ability to adjust the reticle position at any level of zoom.
Previously, the reticle position could only be adjusted at base magnification, so the latest upgrade makes fine adjustment of the reticle position easier.
