not been out since the does and cwd ended.
wanted to go out friday but storm amy had other ideas.
finished work today so i could leave home by 4 30.
first ride loads of acorns and oak leaves, like walking on cornflakes.
sat in a high seat for about 30 mins, nothing happening. give up and slowly walk to next high seat.
like magic a young munty buck appears mid ride, i freeze over a couple of mins whilst he feeds i move the gun onto the sticks, eventually he turns broad side, BOOM and hes down.
quick check and clean kill.
move on the ride to next high seat, about 30 mins nothing show, ravens calling, but nothing exciting.
i back track to the first high seat and spot a deers ar×e a out 300m away.
can be sure what it is but no harm looking 100m up the ride munty appears in the nettles just browsing away. i now have nothing to loose, munty close some else far.
closing the gap the munty evaporates, about 30 yards from last munty sighting i stop and glass, deer at the far end are cwd doe with now a few fawns. no sign of the munty but i wait with light fadding.
another munty buck barks, i wait still nothing.
a few squeeks on the buttalo, nothing, a few squarks on the buttalo and i wait, foot steps in the leaf litter and i see the buck, turn slowly and he darts behing a tree.
dont think he saw me because he froze behind that tree for 5 mins, i could see his ears flucking but nothing else.
after squeaks and squarks on the buttalo he stepped out at about 25yards. BOOO
