First cubs this year

Wow, I was just wondering when the cubs are going to appear this year. Shot a pregnant vixen last weekend.

I normally stop shooting once the cubs are born to give them a chance to get weaned. Yes I know, not everyone does it, but I do, I can then deal with the fox and cubs when they are all above ground.
I did get a tip-off from the land owner as he’d caught a cub in one of his larsen traps, which he let go as he didn’t have a gun with him to dispatch it, he did get some stick over it 😂 I then set up the bait pipe on Monday, had a look tonight & nothing else has been at the bait so might have been just the 2 which might explain how far on they were. I’ll keep it going just in case though.

Moved the bait pipe 3 days ago & got these 4 cubs tonight, I’ll have to try for the vixen another night as there was so much moisture in the air it made things hard going towards the end. Like someone mentioned on another thread, knowing your ground & where the earths are pays off when you keep your eye on things.

Driving into Filton last Weds am small cub dead in middle of road. This evening driving out of Gloucester my partner saw another one dead size of a small cat.
I have as yet to see any on my ground but not expecting too having shot so many vixens.
