Anyone seen any yet?

Early I know and I was doing 60mph.....but pretty certain I saw one roadside curled up in rural Oxfordshire this morning.

Maybe my brain was filling the gaps but looked like a small spotted kid tucked up dangerously close to the road in the overgrown edge....wasn't road kill but oblivious to the traffic.

Not a kid, but even a local deer park too me (pretty much just a fenced clear cut) just posted there first sika calf of the year, it is baby time! seen the first posts of east coast americans posting whitetail fawns too.

I'll be on the look out next week, all of them are in good condition but we'll try to leave the does and not put pressure on them if not needed, but from afar with binos for sure!

Seen just one so far, April 29th, looked to be a few days old - luckily it was when I was walking the margins with the dogs on purpose before they cut the silage (I move them to the wood edge.) Even with reminders still only about half of the farmers remember to let me know when they are mowing. It's worth the work to my mind.

Earliest recorded here at home was April 11th.

By the amount of reports I have heard it seems that a good few are early and one would imagine the unseasonably warm weather could affect this.
