First time at self filming me shooting a muntjac buck

Out in my hide again this morning .

Shot a muntjac doe at less than 20 yards. Dragged her back to the hide and then this buck appeared. I was on my own but had my video camera and tripod, so I managed to self film the events.

Please please before anyone jumps on me regarding head shooting, I am confident with mine and my rifles abilities, the deer was just 87 yards away and I had a good solid rest.

Cheers

Whilst I have no problem with head shooting at the ranges that you say, leaving your rifle behind when you check on your animal is not recommended.
But a good shot none the less

Fair comment I suppose?

What you would have not seen was the fact that I had already walked rifle in hand up to the animal, it was quite clearly dead.

I then went back to my hide and started the camera rolling, with hindsight I should have carried my rifle again to show "best practise" but as I knew it was dead I did not see the need. Next time I will make sure I film the obvious.

Thanks for your comment, nonetheless.

Surely the film crew would have looked after the rifle for you?!
nice shot!

what does a muntjac head look like after a .270 hits it!!??

Well done, nice video and thanks for sharing. I've never seen a muntjac stand that still for so long, I thought the video had paused! I suppose as you video more, you'll get used to thinking what the end veiwer expects to see included. Stick with it. Look forward to seeing some more.

The only reason it stood still that long is the numpty pi$$ arseing around with the video camera .

If I was not trying to film and shoot I would have shot him whilst he stood looking at me. Great static target.

Thanks for watching
