Fjallraven stuff

Use the pro viddas and the Brenner pro depending on the weather. Both solid and long lasting. Only ever had one problem with them, a button broke on the Brenners, the shop I bought from were utterly useless, but when I complained directly to Fjallraven they sorted it straight away. Mike

fjallraven stuff very high quality and hard wearing, esp. the G1000 cloth. But in my opinion it’s primarily designed for Scandinavian conditions,- cold windy and snow. From my experience it’s not brilliant in heavy driving rain,(but then, what is)?
Newer jackets now are available in synthetic materials better able to cope with this.

Wear their trousers when I am in the hills. Excellent kit, not the cheapest but good value for money. Comfortable, well made, fit for purpose, hard wearing, dry quickly and plenty of pockets.

I have a jacket that must be 25 years old now. Love it to bits but it is in bits now! Still walk the dog or stalk in it on a cold day. Good gear that will last.

Me too. It’s loden and canvas and all the canvas has worn and torn but it’s a lovely jacket. Dog walking duties only these days when I remember it’s at the back of the wardrobe.

I wear this gear and have done for a long time. Have many bits anorak no 8 Lapland hybrids trousers drev jacket varmland trousers with hydratic all great for what you need them for. I broke rank and got some Harkila pro hunter move stuff and wished I hadn’t. Wore it twice and got rid and got a falljraven stormland jacket.
Also picked up some sasta trousers never wore them before so can’t comment yet. Out to Hungary next week so will report back.

If it helps with sizing I’m 38 waist and would be xxl in jackets etc and there Euro size 56 works fine for me.
Sporting lodge and Bushcraft store best for prices
Marry Christmas all

Thanks for that.. Varmland ordered in M, may come up a bit roomy but that’s probably best - the jackets look like you could wear them for pheasant etc too if you do the odd day. Merry Christmas!

There hydratic stuff is waterproof but standard g1000 is not that waterproof.
Fantastic gear though

i have g-1000 jackets and trousers.
Comfortable and hardwearing but not 100% waterproof and not for days of continuous rain but for lowland showery wet weather where you are stalking, sitting and dragging then combined with wicking under layers are perfect and my choice of the last 20 years along with Swanndri :)
I don't wax the fabric just wash in cotton proof :thumb:
