What do you use for flea treatment. My cocker has somehow picked up a dose and despite washing all the bedding and two treatments. Can’t seem to shift them. Oddly enough my border is absolutely flea free.
Any tips as in 20 years Iv never had a dog with fleas?
Unfortunately the treatment can take a few weeks to break the breeding cycle and you may have fleas young and adults in the floor fabrics and furniture if it suits them, If the activity has passed over a few weeks and increased, they are only on the dog to feed the high percentage are in the fabric of the house I would recommend you get the house treated, the dogs you can get gear from the vets to treat and if possible get it all done at the same time, the reason i say get the house treated is to have a residual in place to kill off any new fleas that come along from new hatches and you need to break the breeding cycle to have success, if you can, use a suitably qualified pest control person to ensure you get it right first time, very rarely is a second treatment required only if the house is minging with them. DIY pest control wont have the same effect, you will need a residual encapsulated insecticide with if possible a anti growth hormone included to give you long term control and eradicate the problem
PM me your number and ill give you a call
cheers

they don’t understand so well

Paraffin rag on me ferrets years back, never been a smoker thankfullyWonder what all these chemicals are doing to our dogs. Anybody tried the old derback(not sure spelling) soap, that we used to have for nits?
That seemed to work well on kids.

It was for worms not fleas, I mentioned it in relation to using in - organic chemicals not biting insects - apologies if I confused the threadHmm a fully trained pharmacist should have enough knowledge to know that herbal flea treatments are no use.
As others have said, frontline (fipronil) is not as effective as it used to be. No idea why, spray a flea with it and it dies, but the spot on just doesnt do it any more. Speak to your vet, they'll know what works best in your area. Bravecto, Simparica, Nex-guard as tablets all good stuff as tablets, Advantage and others as spot on.
A house spray is vital to break the cycle as described earlier.
Understood. Still won't work!!It was for worms not fleas, I mentioned it in relation to using in - organic chemicals not biting insects - apologies if I confused the thread
