Flexible,light boot

Any recommendations on a light, flexible, no breaking in boot ? As I am in Belgium the market is much smaller than the UK.
Bought a pair a few months ago on the net, but they seem to heavy for me. I will use them for high seat work in the future.
As I have two very bad knees ( on 1 the cartilage is completely gone) and a bad back , a stiff , heavy boot wich needs breaking in, is really very hard for me.
I had a look at the Haix Scout and Nepal Pro , but would prefer an all leather boot.
I also had a look the Altberg Warrior Aqua , Bergen and Sneeker Aqua. But Altberg is only available over the net in here.
Harkila also seem to have a few softer, flexible models.
About 9" high would be perfect.

Well, I was going to include the Altberg Sneeker range, but realise you have discounted this because of location. I might not be as quick to write this off. Another option might be the AKU Pilgrim range. Very light and did not give any trouble when worn on a 10mile tab having only been worn a week.

I have Harkila trapper 9” boots, they are very light and flexible. I can see how Harkila earned a poor reputation for their boots though, a piece of the trend of on sole on mine was glued on badly from the factory and when it started flapping around I had to remove it and re-glue it myself.

However they have been very comfortable, and 100% waterproof.

good afternoon,get the altberg warrior of the internet from a surplus suppliers ,new in box un issued for about £40 uk.i use them daily and they last me about a year.i have other heavier boot. but unless its raining very heavily i dont need gortex lining. the altberg do need dubbing now and again but no difference to other leather boots.

you may be a bit out of date with your pricing, currently they seem to be running at £160-170 new

altberb boots evil bay! new non issued from £29.99 depending on size.takes a while to find what you are after but mine came with a pair of winter sock and two tubs wax so were for royal marine issue .lots to choose from and delivery is about 5 days .not over christmas though.

I prefer heavy and stuff but in case it helps...

The mil surplus Haix boot I found light and very flexible but in my case it did need a little bit of breaking in, or at least wasn't as comfortable out of the box as the other boots I generally wear though that could be down to my being used to heavy and stiff boots. They aren't expensive, around £50, as surplus items and the ones I got were sold as "grade 1" but appeared new.

Many years back I had boots by Brasher - they made sort of "hiking boots" aiming at casual users and so they were relatively light and soft as most users were only going to walk the dog down the street in them. They were Goretex lined and my father also got a pair for casual walking and he loved them, in fact I think he still has a pair.

On a similar line some of the less expensive, and therefore less "serious," walking boots may well do your job as they tend to be aimed at the casual user and so aren't stiff or heavy. I'd guess quality varies. The catch with that might be if you really need a 9 inch boot, I personally prefer ankle boots and think they actually give better support and for me they work as well as much taller boots on very wet and soft ground, but you may well have a good reason for liking the 9 inch boot. However, if you don't have a specific reason for liking a 9 inch boot it might be worth a punt to give something shorter a try, get something cheap from an ourdoor store and see if it works for you and if not you can use them for gardening on similar.

9" is not a must , more a maximum height. 8 to 9 would be great ( 20 - 22 cm) I don't like anything to high.

I certainly have not discounted Altberg. There seems to be a dealer in Holland , very close to the Belgian border. I will and go try them on. If he doesn't stock the model I want, I certainly will know the right sizing for me by Altberg.

Being able to drive a car comfortably is probably the best answer of correct stiffness. At least for me.

A friend of mine has a pair of Boreal ( Spanisch) boots for a few months and is very pleased. Could be a little more supple for me.

I love the aku pilgrim high leg... so much so I bought a second pair!!.... I wear boots 7 days a week and have found the pilgrims to be very comfortable and not heavy and stiff.... they are goretex lined and fully waterproof...and take abuse very well for a non leather boot!!...

I love the aku pilgrim high leg...

I’d recommend the same every day. Trekitt deliver rapidly too.

I wear the low-cut non-Goretex version but will definitely be getting their big brothers when my Meindls die.

I have these also. Very good boot . I wore them first time on the hill in Scotland without any issues.
