The whole licensing system is a total farce. Firearms Law Guildance to Police is not LAW according to BASC firearms dept. Where do we go from here?????
I always thought that MP's in Parliment made and passed the LAWS of Great Britain NOT the Police.
So if it's not in the Firearms Law book then it's not Law and the police can do what they want, but taken to task they would loose in a court of law.
For the police to put restrictions on a gun licence that stops a person from following their chosen sport or gamefull employment that is not law is a breach of Human rights.
What the police should be doing is following the guildance of the Firearms Law not writing what the police think is the law.
It needs ALL firearms licence holders to lobby their MP to stop the police from diverting from the firearms law laid down by the British Government

SO LETS ALL GET OFF OUR ARSES AND GET LOBBYING

Well us in staffs are really lucky by the sounds of it we dont get mentoring conditions on any cal sounds like some of you are hard done by on mentor conditions

Lobbying isn't the answer.... what it needs is for us the certificate holders to dig our heels in and say "NO, we are not accepting these conditions" and send our cert back unsigned.
But we won't do that because we need our certificates to go and buy that new gun we've got on order.

To grow a pair and write to the licensing manager (not the FEO) asking for his justification on imposing these conditions, backing up your request with the relevant sections of the Firearms act and don't be fobbed off.
Remember that conditions on a firearm certificate are at the descretion of the chief officer of police, but they must be;
o LAWFUL
o UNAMBIGUOUS
o WRITTEN IN PLAIN ENGLISH
o REASONABLE
o PROPORTIONATE
o NON-CONTRADICTORY
o DEMONSTRABLY BENEFICIAL TO THE PUBLIC SAFETY
o PROPERLY NOTIFIED
o EVIDENCED

You have rights.... use them.
