I don’t think there is a way of forcing a user to ‘unfollow’ you currently. They get no extra information from following someone other than it stores a user in the their own personal list.

So unlike the old format where all your friend’s (which following seems to have replaced) activity would show up on a log with your activity.
Fair enough. To be honest though if it serves no function then why is there a ‘follow’ option and if there is it may be an idea to let users control who’s following them same with just about any other social media.

Maybe he meant to click the "Ignore" button which is next door and missed? Must admit it is easy to hit "Like" by accident when swiping through with your thumb on the mobile phone.
Do you get informed if someone is ignoring you as well as when someone is following you?
