I often help a Calabrian neighbour doing his cattle /fencing/welding on his small 300 acre block blah blah,he helps me out in return.
Yesterday after our toil we stopped for lunch cooked by 80 year old Nonna and 75 year old Aunt.
Home made salami with grana padano for a taste with the obligatory beers. Then followed with the slow cooked risotto, wild duck and quail and everything good about it included was served up. Grated Pana melted into the surface Being a gannet I had to dose myself twice with the risotto lol.
Sent home with the leftovers including salami and cheese i ate it cold today for smoko and **** me it definitely is the best ever. Didn't think of a pic until i started chomping, ph pic only though. You will get the drift.

Duck eggs are my favourite,goose eggs are fantastic too. My chef mate will eat a schitt sanga as long as the bread is fresh but cant come at duck eggs...weird ****.
A match made in heaven!!! I love them soft-boiled on hot buttered toast with a sprinkling of sea salt flakes. Guess I'm going to bed hungry tonight

I`ve swallowed a few old ducks eggsMine too. Trouble is, to get duck eggs you need to keep ducks
That looks beautiful. Pepper sauce and venison go really well together, I always think. One of my favourite meals is roe loin with peppercorn sauce, and plain Basmati rice
Beautifully cooked Roe Sir ! I agree that a simple pepper sauce elevates the flavour. I tend to mix black and green peppercorns.
