Battered scallops !!!!….. luv em ! Never had em battered ….. why hell not !?

It was a first for me too, I love scallops and they were the special on Sunday so had to try them.

My God they were divine, landed that morning less than 20 miles down the road and cooked to perfection.

The place is well known for it's fresh seafood and prices from decades ago, proper old school gem of a place off the beaten track where the owner stops at each table for a little chat.

That's for sure! I was lucky enough to get on the mackerel off Arbroath on Tuesday evening. An hour of handlining produced a bucket of superb fish.

Can’t beat that taste , mackerel are so under a fantastic for taste from a smoker.
Before they put the stupid parking restriction on the sand gate road Nr Folkestone spent many a time catching mackerel on the beach smoking them with a ripped up loaf and salted butter crash out in the trailer repeat smoker for brekkie next morn supetb

Food Porn

1st attempt at boiled red stag tounge. Boiled for 90 mins, dropped in an ice batch for 2 mins, peeled and sliced. Served with some mango chutney. No too shabby for a wee shared starter with the boys .

We sent an 8 year old Belted Galloway steer to slaughter recently, he was as fat as butter.
I will be cooking ribeyes and chips fried in beef fat tonight.
I can't eat a whole steer so there is a sales thread in the classifieds.

I used to go cockling in the sands in South Wales. If you knew where they were it look no time. Three kids and I would fill a builders bucket in ten minutes. Then the hardest job was persuading the kids that we had enough!
