Fox in bedroom

I shot a dog fox out of a ground-floor window one night, I had a Patterdale bitch in season on a chain/box combo a few yards from the bungalow, she was going mental, so thinking something untoward was occurring I opened a window so I could listen and watch..... put a flashlight on after a couple of minutes and spyed the fox walking around the bitch who was at full chat on the end of the chain... .410 and a Fourlong sorted it out when it had a drink from the garden pond.

Actually has anyone shot a fox carrying a live rabbit and the rabbit legging it after?
No, but many years ago I was out one early morning and I heard the sound of a fox raiding chickens in the farmyard about a hundred yards away. Moments later, I spotted a fox coming down the hedgeline towards me with a white chicken in its mouth. I kept still until it was about 30 yards from me, then rolled it over with my old Belgian hammer gun. Amazingly, the chicken got up and ran towards me and stopped at my feet. It was uninjured by either the fox or my shot.

I took it back to the farm, and it lived on for a couple of years.

I shot a stoat which was clinging to a a rabbit's back once. Poor rabbit was paralysed by fear or the stoat's bite and didn't run off so received the next bullet. Still feel a little shame at that second shot, mind.

I cannot stand cats. This due to waking up at five years old and seeing a big ginger one on the end of my bed. How it got there we couldn't figure as it would have to have climbed a brick wall, made it upside down round a 4 ft projection and then got in through a window open 2". It could not have gained access through the house as it found that not very easy on it's attempt to exit. On my five year old squeals it shot down stairs and encountered three terriers in the kitchen so it's exit attempt was fatal. That experience still makes my hair stand on end if a cat comes near me. My latest thoughts were that it came down the unused chimney to my bedroom fireplace.
