Foxes

i'm foxing all year round i think you have to if you are serious about keeping there numbers down, sure you can go out after the harvest and get some nice big bags but you have to ask yourself how many poults and over wildlife have you lost in the mean time?

Ask Mrs Finnbear about Foxing!.... Football widows?,...Fishing widows? & I include the Carp fraternity here!.....NO CONTEST!.......:fox::fox::fox::fox::fox::fox::fox:.......... I thought about the count recently!..... we jacked that in years ago!........ read the byline!

I had a bit of luck this week, a farmer got my details from another farmer (word of mouth, don't you just love it!) could i visit his farm and tackle his fox problem.Saw 1 adult fox and 3 cubs but all were unsafe/too far.I only took my .22 as didn't want to alam him him on my first visit, so i will be back with the lamp and .243 very soon.He asked how much did i want in payment!Obviously i said 'nowt' but followed with the question, does anyone shoot the roe/reds?No came the answer, so i agreed to concentrate on his foxes in return for the stalking, marvelous!CheersRichard

I shot two of six cubs from one particular litter about six weeks ago. I then had to take a week away (got married) then dropped three of the remaining ones within a couple of minutes (using bait + Foxpro caller). The farmer (who'd been losing chickens) was well pleased! :) Since then I've had a few solitary Charlies appear, but this bleddy weather has made it difficult to get out...:(

No - she doesn't like me coming in late at night and waking her up, but other than that there's no problem! :) Which part of Devon are you in? I'm between Tiverton and South Molton. :)

Paddy, you need to get more staff training time in! , Mrs Finnbear helps unload & carry bags of paunched /whole rabbits to the workshop out back, & returns with a glass of red for me while I de - bus the guns etc!, this can take place anywhere from 11.00pm thru to 5.00am:cool:

If she didn't have to get up for work at 06:30 I'd agree with you, but as it is we need the money - so I compromise (being all heart) by taking my boots off before clomping up the stairs...!

Paddy, I forgot to mention, I am never late for work, as I get nudged gently, to arise in time for the allotted task, usually accompanied by the waft of bacon & egg from downstairs, she who must be obeyed is usually on her way to work by 07.00am herself!:)

I don't live in 'Twixt' more 'Bounty' :D in Barum.
Paddy, I see the Reds in that field on the link road and some Roe just past the Picnic area on the way back to South Molton at the bottom of the long hill, you stalk there?

Brian

Damn got logged out before I could post, an Finn beat me to the pun:lol:

finn what a gem you've got there, all my missus did when I bought bagfulls of rabbits to skin and de-head was to moan about the mess, so now I take poly shopping bags, skin them in the field, rinse them out when I get in then pop them into the chiller.....callie
