I shot a Muntjac doe yesterday morning; nothing unusual 80m, heart and lung shot. On inspection the bullet had entered exactly as intended and there was a corresponding exit wound just behind the shoulder on the other side, I did noticed that her leg was broken, which I thought odd. On opening her up, however, carnage! Heart and lungs were destroyed, both shoulders looked like they had been minced, liver was hit and stomach nicked (not fit for consumption). I am assuming that the bullet (143gr ELDX in 6.5cr) had fragmented, but I've never seen anything quite like this. I have recently swapped to SAKO Powerhead Blade 120gr, so was using up remaining stock of ELDX, but these were not old rounds. I also noticed that the felt recoil was a bit heavier, so maybe a hot round? I would appreciate your thoughts.
