Full moon and Foxes .. Good or bad ?

With a combination of it being tradition that my mate and I go foxing on a Friday and it being too hot during the day to anything anyway we will be venturing forth in search of Charlie tomorrow evening.
Now I see that tomorrow is be a Super Moon. (Really big 'coz we're close to it and a full moon to-boot)

Thoughts ?

Last night two made off largely due to the moon, spotting me a long way off……but moving to another field just by luck I arrived (by car) in the shadows and started scanning……lots out there and a lot saw me and started moving off.

But one fox sat at the edge of the field not bothered…..and got dropped…..on walking out to pick it looking back to the car was perfect from a sniping point of view……the car in complete shadow including approach….but the moon above the treeline directly above the car…..not dissimilar from the foxes perspective to staring into the sun. So that worked out mostly due to luck.

It’s not my favourite time, and I find they stay in cover or close to cover / shadows more, with the odd exception.

If possible, bait (even just into a wood) with clear shot, but you in shadow can work…..a lot easier said than done though.

out tonight on rabbits, some of which will be placed for saturday evenings sit up over a valley providing I don’t have to have forty winks as it cools off 🙄 hoping to grass a couple of foxes, birds are in the pens now, I think this heat will effect old charlie more than moon
sitting up is better than charging about in near daylight

Have always shot them in a moon but difficult to move, best to let them come to you if you can, they have to eat👍

If there’s one thing I’ve picked over the years . No matter if it’s pigeons -crows -rabbits -deer whatever

If they want to be there. There be there . 😉

I was out last night, Moon was pretty bright, but the problem was that it was completely calm and with the stubbles and dead grass in the margins made me sound like I was trying to stealthily creep through a very large bowl of Rice Crispies, (other puffed rice breakfast foods are available), the combination was a bit of a struggle.

When I was out last it was during the heatwave, the thermal spotter just kept picking up pockets of very warm air as they blew across the field. In between wafts was fine but you would suddenly lose the whole picture because the air was that warm.
