******g incensed!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

For those who were asleep full of port/turkey etc, according to the aforementioned crap telly prog, Swans have been used for "Target practice", lead shot being quoted, .......now I have spiders in my smoothbores but I take exception to anyone on the telly casting aspersions on my brethren!

Perhaps check BBC Iplayer, countrywide was mentioned in the OP. I am of the opinion that BASC relies on its reputation and isnt worth the money, moreover its dangerous to rely on it if you are a shooter, friends and influence to little effect - I wish they would sharpen up their act or amalgamate. For me they dont fight hard enough or effectively enough, nor ever have they. Dont take my opinion - look at the history.

countrywise is an ITV program so it won't be on BBC I-player, and if it was only shown this afternoon around the time Finnbear went Tonto then I for one am not surprised no one from BASC has spoken out, its Christmas day FFS!

Christmas day is when the item hit the fan, the day the item go,s live is the day the damage go,s live innit?.... When are u lot who are happy with insurance going to wake up? Numpties!

Thanks for the correction.

Not expecting to find many supporters for this view in this thread, but I find BASC to be an outstandingly good organisation on every level. One of the best I deal with, both as a member/service user and professionally.

Just my opinion/experience.

Not looking for supporters to the thread, looking for support to ACTUALLY make some moves!

perhaps you had better leave the keyboard alone until the christmas cheer wears off! unless BASC was given a script in advance then how do you expect them to respond on Christmas day? or are you suggesting they should have staff watching every programme that might mention shooting and ready to respond at a moments notice?
if you had waited a few days and there had been no comment from BASC after it had been brought to their attention by a concerned membership (eg:you) then I would have some sympathy with your view.

Not looking for sympathy, looking for some "real" action, when you Basc sympathisers get shafted you will be the first to moan ., & this post has nothing to do with alcoholic items in or out, more to do with waking up to realities.

No Dotty, couldn't be more sane at the mo' just driven family home, Basc are a crock of *****! ... When you are scratching about to make something of a renewal in the future you might hark back to this!

I was just commenting on the bee in your bonnet but i can't see the connection between BASC and a screening of a light entertainment programme on Christmas day. What are your views on the other shooting charities and why single out BASC?

Could I suggest the biggest shooting org - 'the voice of shooting' and a new (4 years old?) media centre - perhaps thats why?

Dotty! They profess to be "The voice of shooting" we are slowly but surely sliding down an irretrievable slope, & the further we go the harder it will be to rescue anything from the situation

By the bye Andy,A Happy Christmas to you and all of yours!. Steve.
And Merry Christmas to you and yours, as well, Steve -and to everyone for that matter.

As to the BASC and the SASC. How many members are on this site? Well into the thousands, I'd wager. If everyone set their jaw and approached the SASC folks -or simply started their own group- then that would be a huge step in the right direction. Let the BASC know that you are done with them. Post your agendas everywhere, put up fliers at shooting clubs. Talk to those who the mismanagement of public opinion hurts most. We are in a world of 5 second news clips. Ram them back down their throats. I think that you all, collectively such a diverse group, could muster resources and contacts to get things going. ~Muir (The Seditious American)
