me personaly would stick to the green colours .Real tree is what the poachers wear nowadays but as said its the movement and sent that give u away .But saying that on the contanent they have got to wear some bright colour for safety

I wear realtree so that people don't see me as well as deer. Green colours will work, but so will any colour as deer only see in black and white. It's just another shade of grey to them!
Extremes such as black and white will be seen. Movement, shape, shine, silhouette, skyline are all giveaways. Disruptive patter material (DPM) was designed for good reason!

In Texas, where I hunt, we generally hunt from what we call stands/blinds. You call them doe boxes, I believe. I sometimes make a natural ground blind using deadfall branches. I use a gullie suit while hunting in these. If the wind is in my favor, I find them to be very effective. I have also used them while dove hunting, with little other cover than a clump of weeds or a small shrub. capt david

.....see image to the left......they have their place, as does all manner of camo. But don't go thinking you can move easily in one through the woods, the constant snagging ultimately followed by muted swearing will undoubtedly spook more game than you will see. That said have a go at doing a hat and you will get an appreciation of the colours in the natural environment. When I did my first one (yes I have more than one!) I thought it would be shades of green.....no unless you only stalk on your back lawn, mostly browns & greys all the way.

I only use mine now if I'm planning a static shoot in an open (nothing else to hide behind/under) area, but it's still a ball ache...nice and warm when its cold though. As with all things listen to the advice but make your own decisions and don't be afriad to do your own thing.

Yeah, whatever , deer don't do patrols and most of us stalk alone so spacing isn't really important is it. You can take the boy out of the Army, but you can't take the Army out of the boy eh?!
Anyway, if your going to correct 'misinformation' yourself, you should learn how to spell camouflage!!!!!!!
It doesn't surprise me that you are into S&M either..................

As far as I heard, they were fist used on the sporting estates of scotland by Ghillies for stalking up to deer. Go figure!
